Making Their Own Way
Military Spouses, renown for their resilience, navigate unpredictable circumstances while supporting their loved ones- a testament to their remarkable adaptability. They exemplify unwavering strength and dedication in the face of all challenges. Though many put their own lives on hold to follow their spouses around the world and support their careers, when it comes to pursuing their own passions, Military Spouses may find themselves having trouble navigating the workforce, leading to more entrepreneurial interest. Recognizing the incredible potential of this community, and the need to have portable careers, ASPIRE Military Spouse Program helps to demystify entrepreneurship for Military Spouses.
“Behind every successful Military Spouse entrepreneur is the unwavering determination to conquer challenges and the resilience to turn dreams into reality.”
ASPIRE Military Spouse Program
The ASPIRE Military Spouse Program is an amazing opportunity for Military Spouses to explore the exciting world of entrepreneurship. The program is accessible and convenient, with virtual, interactive classes spread over a 4-week period. Keeping in mind the schedules of Military Spouses, the virtual atmosphere ensures everyone can attend and gain valuable knowledge.
Tailored to the unique challenges and lifestyle of Military Spouses, the ASPIRE program customizes curriculum for military-affiliated entrepreneurs. With frequent moves or the added stresses of running a business on a military base, ASPIRE addresses a multitude of situations with information to help navigate through any circumstance. The program grants access to free one-on-one business coaching, personalized support, and individual guidance. ASPIRE offers an incredible amount of support to Military Spouses, while providing valuable feedback on business ideas and business plans. With ASPIRE, Military Spouse entrepreneurs will have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed no matter where they are stationed.
Military Spouse Business Owners Coaching Military Spouses
Taught by Military Spouse, Melissa Welsh, Boots to Business Trainer and Coach ASPIRE raises awareness through its own community. Melissa says, “Prior to becoming a business coach, I was a business owner and military spouse.” Melissa continues, “ The ASPIRE program has provided a platform where I can help many military spouses realize their dreams of starting and growing their own business. I enjoy helping these entrepreneurs structure their ideas into a complete and viable business plan. The connections made in the program are amazing, and my hope is that participants take what they have learned and not only be successful in business, but also find ways to support future entrepreneurs in their community.”
Hosted by Business Impact NW, through the VBOC Program, ASPIRE covers a wide range of topics over the four-week period. In the first week, participants will learn how to create, develop, and refine their business ideas. Week two focuses on market research tools and concepts. This helps participants understand how to find and reach their target markets and clients. During the 3rd week, participants learn about financial access and sustainability, ensuring financial literacy. Week 4 focuses on connecting participants with ongoing business support, allowing them to form valuable networks and partnerships.
“VBOC is thrilled to give military families the opportunity to grow their household income with the ability to start and grow a lifelong passion into a successful business.”
Honoring Attendees Past and Present
“Although our ASPIRE class is geared towards all Military Spouses, we would like to recognize our women entrepreneurs who have participated in or graduated the course, in honor of Women’s History Month”, says Traci Willett. To further celebrate and honor all our past and present ASPIRE participants, there will be an upcoming meet and greet event, where our newest graduates will be presented with their certificates. This fantastic opportunity for connecting, networking, and celebrating their entrepreneurial journeys will be located at the JBLM Children’s Museum, on April 25th, from 5:30-7:30pm. Light refreshments will be available, along with a drawing for prizes. For off-post visitors with no military ID who are interested in attending, please check JBLM Visitor’s Center for instructions.
