In the spirit of honoring and celebrating our veterans' contributions to the nation, we are thrilled to introduce you to National Veterans Small Business Week and the remarkable Business Impact NW's event that lies at its heart - Operation Entrepreneur. This year, we are setting the stage for three enlightening days from November 7th - 9th, where veterans, service members, and military-connected individuals can gain invaluable insights into three key themes that are instrumental to the success of any small business: pricing strategies, franchising, and building small business credit.

Why National Veterans Small Business Week?
National Veterans Small Business Week is more than just a date on the calendar; it's a recognition of the immense talent and dedication that military-connected individuals bring to the world of entrepreneurship. Our veterans have served our country with distinction, and now they are channeling that same dedication and work ethic into building successful businesses. Their entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to contribute to society in a different way is truly commendable.
This week is our opportunity to celebrate their achievements, provide them with resources, and empower them to reach new heights in the business world. Read Alaska Governor Dunleavy's Proclamation about National Veterans Small Business Week here.
A Statement From Our VP of Military & Contracting Programs
"Operation Entrepreneur is a tribute to the indomitable spirit, dedication, and unwavering commitment of our veterans and other members of the military community who have entered the world of entrepreneurship.
Our nation's veterans have selflessly served our country, often facing challenges and making tremendous sacrifices. Through their service, they have developed qualities such as leadership, discipline, and resilience that make them exemplary entrepreneurs and small business owners. These service members often have a spouse or significant other who follows them through their service and this week is a great opportunity to also recognize those spouses/significant others who have also turned to entrepreneurship to help their family have financial stability.
Veterans bring unique perspectives and skills to the business world. Their ability to adapt to changing circumstances and overcome adversity is a testament to their strength. Whether they are starting a new venture or growing an existing business, veterans make valuable contributions to our economy and communities. These same qualities apply to other members of the military community as well.
I want to express my gratitude to all veterans who have chosen to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. Your courage and determination inspire us all. I encourage everyone to support veteran-owned businesses during this week and throughout the year. By doing so, we not only show our appreciation for their service but also contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation." - Steve Watts-Oelrich

Some Excitement From Our Newest Center Director in Alaska
Alaska VBOC Director Traci Willett shares her excitement for her first Operation Entrepreneur:
"I am absolutely thrilled to be supporting our Alaskan Veteran Entrepreneurs through Operation Entrepreneur. Our Nation’s Veterans (and their families) have given so much while serving and continue to do so within our communities with their Entrepreneurial dreams. Veterans hold so many unique and personal skill sets that make entrepreneurship not only valuable but long lasting. Alaska seems to be a place where many Veterans and their families retire, allowing small businesses to flourish. My team here in Alaska and I are completely humbled and honored to help them achieve those lifelong aspirations.
As the spouse of an Air Force retiree, and a working life dedicated to helping Veterans, this is truly a passion of mine. I get to not only dive in and see the passion of Veterans and Spouses who want to start a business, but I also get to help them with every step of their expedition.
As this is my very first Operation Entrepreneur, I could not be more proud and thankful to be a part of such a great team, have the support of Business Impact NW and ultimately, (our Nation’s finest), our Veteran’s and their Spouses as they start, build, and grow their adventure of entrepreneurship. We are here to help navigate by providing tools and resources in any capacity and Operation Entrepreneur is just another highlight in doing just that." - Traci Willett
